Welcome to A Pause to Ponder God’s Word, referred to by many as Pause to Ponder. Thanks for stopping by.
Have you ever been caught by surprise? Ever been blown away by something? This is what this ministry has done to me. When God gave me the idea for A Pause to Ponder God’s Word I never dreamed that it would grow to what it is today (and it continues to grow). It began with a pastor’s desire to help his parishioners keep their focus during Passion Week, offering to send a devotional each morning of that week to those who would like to receive it. The next thing I knew I was getting email requests to receive the devotional along with requests to continue writing and sending them, in addition to requests for previously written ones. The rest, as they say, is history. I stand amazed and humbled that God would grant me the privilege of ministering to people via this medium.
This site is not designed to WOW you. Rather we desire to offer you devotionals authored by Rev. Gerald Whetstone (Pastor Gerry), ordained Elder and teacher in the Church of the Nazarene. It is designed to be eye pleasing and user friendly offering options to help you find what you are looking for.
Each devotional is written and placed here with the prayer that it will nourish your relationship with God; challenge your thinking in the Lord; motivate your walk in holiness; and stimulate you to a deeper, more regular study of God's Word. Stop by as often as you like. It is our plan to keep writing and adding devotionals as God directs.
