A Pause to Ponder God's Word
"Beautiful Feet?"

When was the last time you had someone tell you, you had beautiful feet? In our society this is not a part of the body that gets a tremendous amount of attention. But Scripture tells speaks about people with beautiful feet noting why they are beautiful and making it clear all Christians should have beautiful feet.

"How then can people call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, 'how beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.'" (Romans 10:14-15)

This passage clearing speaks about sending out preachers of the Word. Nonetheless, it is also about anyone who proclaims the gospel, the good news. Jesus told His disciples that as the Father had sent Him, He was sending them. As His disciples we are sent. We must not shirk our responsibility. People cannot believe on the One whom they have not heard of and they will not hear unless we tell them. All of the ministries we do for the nonbeliever boil down to proclaiming the good news. If we clothe them, feed them, give them homes, care for their needs yet neglect to proclaim the good news we have failed them. All that we do is important but if we fail to give them the good news we rob them of the opportunity to believe and without this opportunity they are destined to judgment and hell.

Beloved, the world is waiting for people with beautiful feet to bring the good news to them. We are that people. Let us use our beautiful feet to go into the world and bring them to the good news!
